Notes on building this site

I'm a developer first, so I wanted my own site to be something I built rather than something I configured.

The stack

Next.js and React, hand-written CSS, GSAP for animation and Lenis for smooth scrolling. Content lives in Markdown files, and a GitHub Action deploys it to Azure App Service.

Why hand-written CSS

Fewer moving parts, no framework to fight and full control over every pixel.

What's next

More writing here on cloud architecture, DevOps and building agentic systems.
